renaming cultural marxism

On a recent thread elsewhere a commenter made an interesting point. Given that cultural marxism is funded by, and promoted by, corporate interests shouldn't we call it cultural capitalism rather than cultural marxism?

I’m inclined to agree and I must admit that I rather like the term cultural capitalism.

  1. When I was growing up, under the influence of Orwell and the like, it was commonplace to observe that (supposedly opposite) 'extremes' meet, so that Left (communist) and Right (fascist) dictatorships amounted to the same thing: *totalitarianism* (a secular tyranny dedicated to total monitoring and total control of the masses). It's a pretty good word, and it describes how the supposed modern opposites of Big Business-Capitalism and State-Socialism meet up to produce, yet again, totalitarianism.
